Editorial Standards

Epoch Post — Editorial Standards & Ethics

1. Our Mission

EpochPost is an independent, nonpartisan news organization dedicated to fearless, fact-based journalism. Epoch Post exists to challenge power, expose wrongdoing, and publish information the public has a right to know — without allegiance to governments, corporations, political parties, or donors.

We believe:

  • Power must be questioned, not trusted

  • Truth often emerges outside official narratives

  • Independence is non‑negotiable

We are anti‑corruption, pro‑evidence, and accountable to readers only.

2. Independence & Funding

  • Epoch Post does not accept funding from governments, political parties, corporations, NGOs, intelligence-linked organisations, or lobbying groups.

  • No advertiser, donor, or partner has editorial influence.

  • If funding sources change in the future, they will be publicly disclosed.

Editorial decisions are made solely by the editorial team.

3. Editorial Independence

Editors and contributors:

  • Are free from external pressure

  • Are not required to align with any ideology or faction

  • May criticise any state, institution, or power centre

No topic is off‑limits.

4. Evidence & Sourcing Standards

Epoch Post prioritises primary evidence.

Acceptable sources include:

  • Official documents (laws, court filings, government records)

  • On‑the‑record statements

  • Verified eyewitness testimony

  • Reputable investigative reporting

  • Data, images, or video with verifiable origin

We avoid:

  • Anonymous claims without context

  • Circular sourcing (media citing media)

  • Claims presented as fact without supporting evidence

When evidence is incomplete, we clearly state what is known, unknown, and alleged.

5. Opinion vs Reporting

Epoch Post distinguishes clearly between:

  • News / Investigative Reporting — evidence‑based, factual

  • Analysis — interpretation grounded in facts

  • Opinion — clearly labelled viewpoints

Opinion is welcomed. Disguised opinion as fact is not.

6. Corrections & Accountability

  • Errors are corrected promptly and visibly

  • Corrections are noted at the bottom of articles

  • Readers may report errors via a public contact channel

We do not silently edit mistakes.

7. Language & Tone

We aim to be:

  • Direct

  • Clear

  • Unafraid

We avoid:

  • Sensationalism without evidence

  • Dehumanising language

  • Calls for violence

Strong criticism is allowed. Unsupported accusations are not.

8. Transparency

Epoch Post commits to:

  • Publishing an editorial policy

  • Identifying authors or clearly stating when anonymity is required for safety

  • Explaining methodology in major investigations

We believe transparency is protection — for readers and journalists.

9. Editorial Review Process

Before publication:

  • Claims are reviewed for evidence

  • Headlines must reflect content accurately

  • Sources are checked for authenticity

Speed never overrides accuracy.

10. Reader Relationship

Epoch Post respects readers as thinkers, not consumers.

We encourage:

  • Critical reading

  • Disagreement

  • Public debate

Loyalty is not demanded. Truth is.

Independent. Evidence‑driven. Unaligned.
